The USS Solaria and other ships in the fleet have been given special orders to begin utilizing a new design of Starfleet uniform, commbadge and rank insignia like many other vessels in the fleet. The uniform shares traits with many uniforms from previous eras but most notably includes the introduction of a shoulder patch on the left arm that displays the wearers surname or family name. Rank insignia is worn on a black patched area above the right breast and the commbadge is worn on the left side.

Uniform Variants

A number of variant uniforms are available for people in different departments in order to aide them in their duties. The overcoat variant is strictly limited to command level officers (XO and above) only. No permission is required to wear these variants but orders may be given for them to be worn in special circumstances.

Dress Uniforms

The dress uniforms perhaps show the greatest difference and departure from the norm. These uniforms are the only ones where differentiation between admiralty, officer, enlisted and marine takes place.
